Just how many parties is too many? Is there even such a thing as too many parties?
On Heidi’s birthday I brought a special snack to camp. Her teachers made her a crown and she decorated it. Everyone sang her happy birthday and she blew out her birthday candle, which was stuck in a strawberry rather than a cupcake. Why? Heidi doesn’t really like cake. I brought fruit, cheese cubes and goldfish crackers for her birthday snack per her request. More than one of her classmates said, “Hey! Where’s the cupcakes?” 😉
Happy birthday to my favorite girl in the whole world! 4 years old!

NOT GONNA HAPPEN
Wild, Wild West
It’s a do-rag kind of day.
I’m not 4.
Last night Heidi and I had a girls night out. We went to her favorite restaurant, Taco Mamacita. You know kids; they can only sit still for so long. Toward the end of dinner she was inching out of her seat, half-laying down, thinking of going under the table, etc. I told her to sit up. Twice. The third time I reminded her that she was almost 4 and that 4 yr. olds sit up at the dinner table and use their manners. Her response? “But I’m not 4.” I advised her she was very nearly four and needed to practice. Her response? “I am 3, Momma. I am not 4 yet.” And there it is, like mother, like daughter. I too used to have an answer for everything. I too used to try to have the last word.
What?!
Taught my kids how to slip-n-slide today. By example. It’s been a long time…
Power Seeds
Made quinoa for dinner, 1st time ever. Told my kids the brown things were power seeds and they ate it all!
