Last night at bedtime Heidi looked at me very seriously and said, “Mommy, I’m a child and you’re a doughnut.” I realized she meant “adult.” Get it? “A doughnut” – “A-dult” Funny, right?
Once I made the connection I said, “An adult?” “Yes”, she said. She was very tongue twisted but tried a few times to say “adult.” On the fourth try she got it.
She became very tickled by her mistake and looked at me laughing and said “Mommy, you’re roly olies!” “Roly olies” means raviolis, which is really Spaghettios with meatballs…that’s just what she calls them.
I love this silly little girl with a budding sense of humor.
