HaLLowEeN 2010…outdoor…couture…decor. ;)

OUTDOOR

We went to the Pumpkin Patch.  It’s fancy…a regular Fall festival every day!  There is a huge jungle gym, bounce pillow, haunted houses for little bits and big bits (no, thank you), petting zoo, corn maze and Fall market.   All this AND a field with pumpkins in it!  It was hot and the kids are too small for the REALLY fun stuff but we go every year anyway…for SOME fun and SOME pics.  If you are wondering where Wyatt is, he’s there strapped to my chest below the camera, sleeping.  If you are wondering if Heidi did a wardrobe change while at the pumpkin patch, she did.  Five minutes after we got there she refused to walk across the 8-foot long, 1 foot tall bridge (over a slight ditch) into the pumpkin patch, and sat down on it to prove her point, dirtying her rear.  She then took a tumble in the patch, dirtying her front.

Heidi’s best job posing with the pumpkins. :-/

She has found her shadow.

She loved the bounce pillow!

So did Uncle Paulie!

Scary?

Scared?

Nope.

COUTURE

They went as Dorothy and Toto.

No. More. Pictures.  LET’S GO TRICK OR TREATING!!!!!

She loved trick-or-treating.  She greeted every fellow trick-or-treater out there, even the scary ones with a very loud “Hey” and an enthusiastic wave.  She was not shy about reaching into the candy bowls to choose her piece and did in fact choose just one piece…at a time that is, not per house. 🙂

Home from trick or treating, Heidi helped pass out candy.

Aidan and Avery came over for a photo op!  I don’t know about y’all but I think a ladybug, a dog, a gladiator and a little lady from Kansas could rule the world!

Last treat before bed…

Heidi wore this outfit last Halloween.  She was 4 months old.  Wyatt is 9 weeks old.  They both look cute in it…but if I had to say, Heidi wore it better, having accessorized it with a skull and crossbones with pink bow skull cap.

DECOR

Today we took the decorations down.  Heidi really enjoyed playing with the spiders.  Go figure.

BOO!

October 2010 pre-Halloween.

What a fun month it has been!

Wyatt and Heidi are neck and neck for the “Happiest Kid Ever” award.  He is the biggest flirt…smiles at me and Michael constantly but does not discriminate when it comes to new faces.  He is “this close” to laughing.  Heidi and he are beginning to really interact, her by talking to him and bringing him toys, replacing his paci for him, holding his bottle aided by one of us and him by smiling and cooing at her.  The other day Wyatt was on his play mat and she came over and sat beside me, leaned under the toy arch, put her arms around him and hugged him up to her.  My heart melted!  She loves him!  Just where was my personal videographer?

On another note…Heidi has entered the separation anxiety phase of toddlerhood.  I wouldn’t call it extreme but it isn’t great.  Our church assigns numbers to each child in the church nursery and has a sign that flashes the child’s number if you are needed in the nursery.  I left her in there last Sunday crying and told them to call me if she did not calm within 10 minutes.  10 minutes later, #907 was flashing on the screen.  She wasn’t still crying but she wasn’t happy.  If she was old enough to sit/be quiet through church then I would have her with me but, at almost 16 months, she is just not.  So…this is going to require some training…on her part and mine.  It is torture to leave her when she is crying but I want her to become comfortable away from me, knowing that I will be back.

Sleep…whatever.  If one sleeps, the other doesn’t.  Heidi is teething and doing whatever it is that causes 15/16 month-old’s to wake in the night.  Wyatt is just doing what babies do.  It’s cool…whatever.

I’m proud of my kids, of my family.  This parenting thing is a laugh a minute.  Truly.

Sometimes the line between performers and audience blurs, which is incredible.

Heidi’s Office

Wyatt meditating.  “Ohm”

Headed to church with new shoes on.  🙂

“I parked the car in the hallway, brought these groceries in and kicked off my shoes.  Now I am going to put my purse down and relax!”

Oh yeah, that’s a coyote in my back yard.

Wyatt’s office attire.

Our attempt at a pony tail was weak.  Heidi’s fine hair won’t be ready for that for some time.

Creating a masterpiece.

Gotta love Saturday mornings.

Heidi discovered a lizard, which she promptly barked at.  🙂

Couldn’t resist…how cute is he?  For real…he is CUTE!  Roly Poly. 🙂

She loves the shower so much you have to undress her quick before this happens.

Accesories, accessories.

My little fashionista with a style all her own…well, all mommy’s style as long as she allows it.  😉

Awww, brother and sister.  XOXOXOXO

Halloween pics coming….

Whirly Whirl!

Heidi liked the whirly thing…to a point.  Eventually she got the stone-faced-stuck-on-this-ride look.  In adults and older children that usually signals puking, so we stopped spinning.  🙂  She got a big kick out of being dizzy when she got down and showed it with alot of laughter.

Aunt Keira and Cousin Magnolia visit.

It was a fun few days.  Heidi loves Keira and Mags.  It is a little unclear which one is her favorite.  She is partial to dogs over people in general.  We took our last “in the water” beach day of the season, which, at four weeks old, was also Wyatt’s first time going to the beach.  Everyone had a grand time despite the threatening sky.  The visit ended all too soon but we hope to see her again soon!

See ya soon!
